The GripwellTM gives the operator an advantage in CQB over the "traditional" vertical foregrip.  This is accomplished by using a super tight vertical grip which produce a natural tendency to keep the elbow in tight .  This in turn keeps the operator small and from making accidental contact with other entry team members or hitting objects causing an accidental "sweeping" of a team mate.
